Based in Florence, Ala., ElderCare Services provides non-medical in-home care services, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, personal hygiene, fall prevention, dementia supervision, medication reminders and companionship. In addition, we offer light housekeeping, food preparation and transportation to appointments. The company provides services full time, part time, long-term and short-term. ElderCare Services is a member of the Home Care Association of America (HCAOA). ElderCare is long-standing Accredited Member of the Better Business Bureau with an A+ rating. When Jean Gay Mussleman's 92-year-old father broke his hip and suffered a massive stroke, she was unable to secure the experienced, reliable caregivers required for him to continue living at home. Sadly, he died in a nursing home six months later. In grief and frustration, she sat down and wrote a business plan for a company that could provide such a service. In 1996, in response to the un-met need that she experienced, Jean Gay founded ElderCare Services. Even though it was too late to help her own father, ElderCare has provided care and comfort to thousands of Shoals citizens. Dee Mussleman has been with ElderCare since it was founded by Jean Gay Mussleman in 1996 and is now the owner of the agency. Dee enjoys helping senior citizens to continue living in their own homes. Dee is active in the local health care community and is also an active member of the Home Care Association of America (HCAOA) on the national and state levels. Dee is currently Board Chairman of the Better Business Bureau's Shoals Regional Advisory Board. Dee Is a Certified Senior Advisor and a Certified Dementia Practitioner.
