General Description

It all started in the 1950s, when Red ‘Pops” Wilkinson opened a small corner liquor store where one could buy a six-pack of beer, renew a fishing license or pick up a Styrofoam cooler. A lover of all things outdoors, Red named his establishment Sportsman’s Liquors. For the next 30 years, Sportsman’s Liquors serviced the local community, shifting with the times as necessary. In the late 1960s, with a new owner at the helm, the décor was changed to reflect a penchant for baseball and horse racing.
