Dr. Hurwitz is certified by the American Board of Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and fellowship-trained in advanced minimally invasive surgery and surgical oncology. He has been in practice at Hoag Hospital since 1998. His clinical interests include: the application of minimally invasive/robotic surgery to hernia repair, single-incision gallbladder surgery, and gastrointestinal surgery; endocrine surgery (thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal surgery); and the surgical management of melanoma. In addition, he serves as Medical Director of the Hoag Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine Center.
