Roger and Vilai Thavarajah met in college after he emigrated from southern India in 1982, and she relocated from Bangkok, Thailand in 1989 with her family. After over 24 years of marriage and the raising of two beautiful children they sought a new way to continue doing what they loved. Along came Brown Cup Café and Lounge. Vilai has had a long standing passion for the culinary arts, and compounded with her background in nutrition and wellness she was excited to share her passions. Roger’s passion is finding the beauty in connecting with people through those small but unique interactions that stay with you long after you say your farewells. So in 2016 they decided to venture into a booming industry that lacked their bighearted touch. Their warmth is truly the spark that makes Brown Cup Café and Lounge the go-to location in Oceanside for anyone looking to slow down and regain their sanity in a world that’s only speeding up.
