Like most people with a pet care business, Kenn Kossan found that taking care of animals was a calling more than a planned career. Despite having an art degree and a career in the film/video industry, he decided to pursue his love of animals by applying for a job as a dog walker, winning out over 106 other applicants despite having no experience. “My boss liked how I related to the animals,” Kenn said. “Dogs and cats always have always made me happy. I try to love them with the same unconditional outpouring they share.” His clients noticed, and Kenn decided to set out on his own, becoming owner of Wagtime! in 1997. Since then, Kenn has set out to make Wagtime! the premier residential-based pet care business in Marin. In addition to taking the dogs on nature walks, Kenn provides a home with numerous toys, a grassy backyard, soft places to lay down, great food, and personal affection and attention. Wagtime! provides a stark alternative to more institutional boarding facilities and kennels, and at less cost. “My house is completely theirs,” Kenn said.
