General Description

Born and raised in Parker, Colorado, Dr. Spellman has been a Colorado girl almost her entire life. She attended Creighton University for undergraduate school and Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska for her medical degree. Prior to obtaining her medical degree, Dr. Spellman earned a Master’s of Science in Human Genetics from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Spellman was thrilled to return to Denver to complete a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Saint Joseph Hospital, where she served as Administrative Chief Resident, ACOG (American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists) Colorado Junior Fellow Chair, and won the Medical Student Teaching Award three of the four years. Her clinical interests include minimally-invasive gynecologic surgery, obstetrics and identifying and correcting healthcare disparities in the community. “I am passionate about women’s health. Women are amazing. Our bodies are capable of creating and supporting life, all while we lead busy lives of our own working and/or raising families. We face many complex decisions surrounding our health, our futures and our families. I love my job, and it is my honor and privilege to help my patients navigate these decisions through both the best and worst moments of life.” In addition, she has earned the Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP) credential from The Menopause Society, the nation's leading independent organization dedicated to menopause care and research. This designation recognizes her advanced knowledge in managing the full spectrum of menopausal health, including hormonal and non-hormonal treatment options, and her dedication to providing the highest standard of evidence-based care for women navigating this important transition. A new mom to a little girl, Dr. Spellman spends her time outside of the office with her husband, baby and dog. She recharges by hiking, snowboarding and cooking.
