The atmosphere at Tempranillo is notable for its rich colors, dual fireplaces, and community gathering table - all reflecting the equally rich depth of flavors and influences which are at the heart of the restaurant's origins. Says owner Gonzalez-Bringas, "Our desire is to create a brilliantly charming place in the community where people can gather and enjoy the dance which exists between the flavors of Spain and Italy." The passion that Gonzalez-Bringas brings to Tempranillo can be traces to his early association with the famed Mezzaluna restaurant in New York City, which eventually led to his opening of both Mezzaluna restaurant in Aspen, and the former Mambo Italiano restaurant in Carbondale. As an additional testament to both his wine and culinary expertise, Gonzalez-Bringas has had the 14-year honor of not only preparing, but also pairing and serving all of the food in the Spanish tent at the annual Food and Wine Magazine Classic, held each summer in Aspen - all of this on behalf of the national trade organization, Wines of Spain.
