Ready to uncover the chilling truth behind Durango’s #1 Ghost Tour? This immersive walking experience takes guests through Durango’s most haunted and historic areas with expert local guides who specialize in documented history and long-standing local legends. Tours operate nightly, year-round, offering a reliable and atmospheric way to explore this former railroad and mining town after dark. As you move through Durango’s historic streets, you’ll hear carefully researched stories rooted in real events that reveal how frontier life, industry, and tragedy shaped the city’s haunted reputation.
Along the route, guests visit some of Durango’s most iconic and reportedly haunted locations, including the A.P. & Estelle Camp House, a preserved residence tied to early civic life; The Rochester Hotel, a longtime lodging site frequently associated with unexplained activity; and the Ute Indian Trading Camp, connected to the area’s cultural and commercial history. Guests may also choose to add the Bonus Extended Tour, which includes additional stops such as El Moro Spirits and Tavern and El Rancho Tavern, both historic nightlife locations with decades of local lore, as well as the Jack Dempsey Mural and Jarvis Building, linked to Durango’s early 20th-century past. Tours focus on exterior storytelling only—we do not enter buildings—allowing guests to experience as many haunted sites as possible while standing on historically significant ground. The route involves steady walking, so guests are encouraged to wear their most comfortable shoes.
This walking ghost tour is ideal for individuals and couples as well as private groups, bachelorette parties, corporate outings, and special events, offering a fun and memorable way to experience Durango together. Each tour balances eerie atmosphere with historical accuracy, making it engaging for skeptics and believers alike.
