General Description

I graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Kansas in 1988. After working in the field of engineering for several years, I found that it wasn’t the fulfilling profession that I had hoped for. I decided to pursue a medical degree and graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1997.  I went on to choose a residency in OB/GYN at St Joseph’s Hospital in Denver Colorado.  OB/GYN encompassed all that I had hoped for in medicine; the ability to play a part in bringing a new life into the world, using the technical side of my brain to perform surgical procedures and the overall precision and focus of the specialty. After completing my residency in 2001, I practiced medicine in my home state of Kentucky until returning to Colorado in 2006 to become a partner here at the Women’s Clinic of Northern Colorado.  I look back now and although it took me some time to find my professional home, I feel blessed to be able to provide care to my patients with the empathy that I would give any member of my family. Providing quality time with patients not only affects the evaluation and medical decisions in our office, but how each individual can take an active step to cultivate their health and wellness at home. When I’m not practicing medicine, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Heidi and our three children. They keep us running from one event to another.  Together we enjoy our hectic schedules but look forward to our time away traveling as a family, taking in the beautiful Colorado outdoors and watching Kansas basketball. Go Jayhawks!
