General Description

Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Bethany Peckler moved to Peru, South America, with her family when she was four years old. She grew up observing her parents? work in community health, Quechua literacy and Bible translation. From an early age she knew she wanted a career that would allow her to give back to people. She received her undergraduate degrees in Biology from Bryan College in Tennessee and in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University in Maryland. She earned her master of nursing science graduate degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She spent the next five years in family medicine and pediatric practices in Texas and Colorado before moving to Grand Junction to join Saint Mary's Family Medicine Clinic.Bethany is an ANCC board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She enjoys providing care to families and individuals of all age ranges. Her primary interests are women's health and chronic illness management. She speaks Spanish and is working toward becoming a certified Medical Translator to better care for her patients. She hopes to travel in the future on medical missions trips."I absolutely love working with patients to improve their health through shared decision-making using current medical guidelines and recommendations. It is inspiring to see their confidence in themselves increase as they make good decisions to care for themselves and their families. In addition, I am privileged to offer holistic care through SCL Health?s faith and outreach-based system which allows me to connect patients with community resources and spiritual support networks."Bethany was drawn to Grand Junction with the healthy and active lifestyle of its residents. She enjoys running, tennis, hiking, camping, rock climbing, reading, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
