General Description

Sharon Conrad Golden is originally from Lima, Ohio. She has a bachelor's degree in art history and multiple nursing degrees. Her master's degree in nursing was completed at the University of Washington, Seattle. Most recently her Clinical Doctorate in Nursing was completed at the University of Colorado, Anshutz Medical Campus. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the Honor Society of Nursing. Ms. Golden is trained to work as an advanced practice provider who is able to provide health care for patients with common neurological conditions. Part of her duties include oversight of the outpatient stroke clinic for St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado. She is currently supervised by neurologist, Dr. Seth Kareus. She is board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is also a professional member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Board of Neuroscience Nursing, and the American Heart Association. Ms. Golden has 26 years of combined nursing experience and 12 years of experience as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. She is passionate about providing personalized strategies to empower patients to assert greater control over their health care through education and confidence building. She is also very interested in clinical research and quality improvement. She has been both a site principal investigator and sub- investigator for several NIH sponsored randomized control trials. She has served in the role as a quality improvement project lead. Examples of neurological problems treated by Ms. Golden include: cerebrovascular disease, multiple sclerosis, dementia, headache disorders, epilepsy, neuropathic pain, idiopathic intracranial hypertension, and trigeminal neuralgia. When not at work. Ms. Golden enjoys reading, hiking, gardening, spending time with family, and appreciating art.
