Dr. Risa Sloves and Dr. Mark Joachim are a husband and wife team who have been Chiropractic Physicians since 1990. At their office, Associates in Family Chiropractic and Natural Health Care, P.C. in Norwalk, CT., the doctors incorporate the use of state of the art health care technology with the highest degrees of training and expertise to care for patients of all ages, abilities and conditions.

Dr. Risa Sloves graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the State University of New York at Binghamtom and Valedictorian, Summa Cum Laude from The National College of Chiropractic in Illinois. Currently, Dr. Sloves is a Diplomat of the National Board of Examiners and is Board Certified by the Education Departments of Connecticut , New York, New Jersey, and Illinois.

The majority of Dr. Sloves' post-doctorate education has been in the study of pediatrics and pregnancy and she is currently 1 of 7 Chiropractic Physicians in Connecticut who has completed a 360 hour, 3 year post-doctorate degree to obtain a Diplomate in this specialty area. With her expertise, Dr. Sloves has the opportunity to help many pregnant women suffering with common conditions such as back pain, sciatica, headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, etc. have pain-free pregnancies and better labors and deliveries. She also been trained in specific chiropractic techniques known as the Webster Technique and The Bagnell Technique and, over the past 20 years, she has had the opportunity to perform both on many pregnant women with breech presentations with a very high success rate, often having the baby turn into a cephalic presentation after just one treatment. In addition, Dr. Sloves is also certified in acupuncture and electrical acupuncture as well as pre- and post-natal fitness. A great deal of her recent post-doctorate education has been in the diagnosis and management/treatment of scoliosis in children and adults. In addition to scoliosis, children often see Dr. Sloves for conditions such as ear infections, asthma, colic and gastric reflux, torticollis, bed wetting, growing pains, sports injuries, sensory integration disorders and other conditions on the Pervasive Developmental Disorder spectum such as ADD/ADHD and autism, and many children (and adults) see Dr. Sloves for wellness care. And, for the past 5 years, she has also been the leader of the Fairfield County Chapter of Holistic Moms Network and recently has been instrumental in helping to begin the Fairfield County Chapter of Dar A Luz, a national support group for pre and post natal mothers.

Dr. Joachim's educational credentials include a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, as well as a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Biology and a Doctorate Degree in Chiropractic which he received at the National College of Chiropractic in Lombard , Illinois in 1990. Dr. Joachim has also completed certification in acupuncture and is a Fellow of the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture. Currently, Dr. Joachim is a Diplomat of the National Board of Examiners and is Board Certified by the Education Departments of Connecticut , Massachusetts , and Illinois .

Dr. Joachim's post-doctorate training specializes in the BioSET Allergy Elimination Technique.
