Person-Centered Therapy is grounded in the Humanistic Theory of Psychology, which states that every person has an internal guiding force known as the Self. When we are faced with information that conflicts with our True Self, we experience anxiety. Person-Centered Therapy focuses on the relationship between a person and their therapist as the foundation for healing. The 3 most important things a therapist brings to this relationship are genuineness, empathy and unconditional positive regard. I strive to be this for every person I meet.I want you to get to know your True Self by exploring past and present life experiences that may be affecting your ability to manage everyday life. Using cognitive-behavioral therapy, I will help you identify and challenge self-defeating thoughts and behavior patterns. Together, we will explore effective coping skills that are unique to you and work on establishing boundaries in relationships to support the goals you have for therapy.
