General Description

Skadarlija is an ancient cobblestone street in Belgrade, a bohemian quarter and one of the city’s landmarks. Its many rustic restaurants represent what Serbian culture and Balkan cuisine are – a mix of many cultures and influences that coexisted and blended over the centuries. Through its turbulent history of several millennia many people passed through this area and left their cultural imprint that is best reflected in the Balkan food. And without doubt at least one or two of the nine Roman emperors born on the territory of today’s Serbia, walked down this street.
