General Description

Brett and Rufino met working in the kitchen at Jimmy's Place in Chicago. Brett opened Brett's Waveland Cafe in Lincoln Park, (the first non-fast food restaurant in the Chicago Park District) Rufino joined Brett to run the kitchen. Brett then started Brett's Kitchen in the River North area; Rufino and his wife Lourdes joined her. The idea is to provide fresh, healthy and reasonably priced food for the neighborhood. Homemade soup, freshly prepared sandwiches, salads and the very best baked goods. Today, Rufino and Lourdes carry on that proud tradition as the owners of Brett's Kitchen; Brett is moving to Mexico to complete the foreign exchange from long ago.
