General Description

Shiatsu is like reiki, massage and acupuncture rolled into one! SESSIONS Treatments are 45-55 minutes and run from head to toe and include every major joint. Special focus is given to your areas of concern. Unlike regular massage,, no disrobing, oils or lotions are needed. You wear comfortable clothes that allow for stretching of major joints. I apply pressure with my hands, thumbs and elbows through your clothes adjusting pressure to your needs, and then stretch your joints to flush out the tension. RESULTS Typically you can expect noticeable results during the first treatment and every treatment after that. Chronic and internal organ issues may take longer to show significant results. Acupuncturists will often tell you it takes 10 acupuncture treatments to see results. My clients see results in 1-3 shiatsu treatments. Regular treatments over time deliver cumulative results that last longer -- months or sometimes even years. FREQUENCY This depends on what your needs are, what your budget is and what your schedule allows. Furthermore each person is different and has different needs, even for the same condition. But these are some generalities: - 1-2 times a month for self care - 1-2 times a week for a specific issue - Every other week to maintain momentum SHIATSU IS A MINDFULNESS PRACTICE Shiatsu goes beyond treatment of illness. It aids in your personal evolution and self awareness--harmonizing body, mind and spirit. For this reason many people continue getting shiatsu even after finding symptom relief. ABOUT ME I have been practicing spirituality and healing since 2009, and practicing shiatsu professionally since 2015. I trained at Zen Shiatsu Chicago where I am now an instructor in their licensing program. After graduating, I did several years of training in the traditional way of tutelage under a master (WinterJade Forest). This included spiritual training, which is a key element in my success with my shiatsu clients. I love being in the treatment room and being attentive, present and caring with my clients. Many of my clients have been coming for years and these healing relationships bring me deep satisfaction. I draw inspiration from my clients as every person meets life's challenges in unique ways. Wprking with people in this capacity teaches me about the broad picture of humanity and pushes me to better myself. NOTE: Thursdays, evenings and Sundays and same day appointments are available on a case-by-case basis. FSA and HSA accepted
