Divya Srikumaran, M.D., is the Walter J. Stark, M.D. Professor of Ophthalmology and Chief of the Division of Cornea and External Disease at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute. She practices at Wilmer’s East Baltimore and Odenton locations. Dr. Srikumaran specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of corneal and external eye diseases and performs corneal transplantation, cataract surgery, and other complex anterior segment surgeries. She is an investigator in multicenter clinical trials that provide eligible patients with access to emerging treatments and surgical innovations. Dr. Srikumaran received her medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and completed both her ophthalmology residency and cornea fellowship at the Wilmer Eye Institute. Her research uses large clinical registries and administrative claims data to study corneal transplantation outcomes, access to advanced surgical care, health equity, and the adoption of new technologies. She received the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Hoskins Center IRIS Registry Research Fund Award and an Eye Bank Association of America Pilot Research Grant to study real-world endothelial keratoplasty outcomes. She has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and lectures nationally and internationally on corneal disease, cataract surgery, transplantation, and surgical innovation. Dr. Srikumaran is Editor-in-Chief of Cornea Open, a Senior Editor for Cornea, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Cornea Society. A nationally recognized educator, she previously served as Wilmer’s ophthalmology residency program director and has received several teaching awards. She is also an examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology, contributes to its cornea and cataract examination-development committees, and was selected for the American Board of Medical Specialties Visiting Scholars Program.
