MDP Development, LLC is currently devoloping Riverside Commons, located at 245 River Street in Fitchburg, MA with a projected opening date of Spring 2012. Riverside Commons will feature 187 residential apartment homes and approximately 16,000 square feet of commercial space. The units will range in size from 600 to 2,200 SF with 33 one bedroom, 142 two bedroom and 12 three bedroom units. Oversized windows have been replaced with energy efficient windows throughout the project and will make for bright natural light apartments. The parking lot accommodates 320 parking spaces. The property is located along a bus route that connects commuters to the Fitchburg commuter rail station in downtown Fitchburg. Over $200M is being spent to improve the existing rail lines and $55M has been approved for a new rail station 2.5 miles west of the site. A river walk will be constructed along the Nashua River and connects to a new nature park across the river that is also currently under construction.
