Dr. Rolfes, a plastic surgeon at Omni Cosmetic, grew up in St. Paul, MN, where his early interest in science and engineering was shaped by hands-on projects with his siblings. He studied at The Chicago Medical School and was selected for the University of Minnesota’s Innovation Fellows program, developing medical devices alongside engineers. He completed a 5-year Head and Neck Surgery residency at Cleveland Clinic, followed by a Facial Plastic Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at Boston University focused on facial feminization. After more than a decade of training, he returned to Minnesota and opened a private practice to focus on specialized procedures, research, and innovation. Dr. Rolfes holds five medical device patents, is triple board certified, and earned the highest score nationally on the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery exam. He is widely recognized for his work in gender-confirming care and is a national leader in Facial Feminization Surgery, as well as an advocate for advancing gender-affirming policies.
