As a second-year medical student, Dr. Harter had the privilege of delivering his first-born and knew he had found his life’s calling.Having had the benefit of great mentors during his training, Dr. Harter has developed the philosophy that birth is a natural sacred and personal event. Intervention should only be implemented if the safety of the mother and/or infant is at risk. As a result, he has received awards and accolades for his low primary cesarean section rates. Additionally, he is known as a leading provider for vaginal births after cesarean (VBAC) in Las Vegas. Valuing the physician/patient relationship, and despite his large volume of patients, it is rare for Dr. Harter to miss any of his deliveries.In addition to being a premier provider of Obstetrics, Dr. Harter is also a skilled Gynecological surgeon, specializing in minimally invasive hysterectomy, sterilization, endometrial ablation, and vaginal reconstruction.Dr. Harter is a local boy. Both he and his wife were raised in Las Vegas. His three children were all born in Nevada. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada. He also received his medical degree from the University Of Nevada School Of Medicine. He completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wright State University in Ohio. He is currently board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
