General Description

The Harrison House Diner has been a Mullica Hill tradition for nearly 30 years, serving satisfied local customers and weary travelers alike. The diner has been a family tradition as well, tracing its roots to Constantinos Benas, who first established a family business in food service more than 50 years ago. Today, his son, George, and grandson, Constantine, continue the tradition as owners of The Harrison House Diner. The building that later became The Harrison House Diner originally was located on Delsea Drive in Glassboro, NJ. This was a Swingle Diner, ordered in 1963 from a North Jersey factory by Constantinos Benas. This diner was featured in Diner Book by Richard Gutman. The diner, known then as the P&B, had unique red tile adorning the exterior facade along with stainless steel, which was already synonymous with diner exteriors. It sat 120 people in booths and counter stools. The diner was moved in 1985 to its current location at the intersection of Routes 45 and 322 in Mullica Hill. Its tile and stainless-steel exterior was replaced by red brick to reflect the historic character of the village.
