General Description

My initial drive to become a physician was, like many others, to help those in need achieve a better quality of life. As a physician, it is a privilege to form bonds with patients and help guide them on their journey to healing. I chose neurology, and subsequently neuromuscular medicine, because the ability to localize a problem within the nervous system is fascinating. My approach to patient care is patient-centered; I strive to present all options and have thorough discussions with patients to help them choose the right approach for their individual needs. I also feel it is of paramount importance to listen to patients' stories and allow them the time to share their experiences. My special interests within the field of neurology include motor neuron diseases, such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
