General Description

Oregon Grappling Arts offers gi and no gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instruction and training for kids and adults ages 3+ in Portland, OR. Our academy is the only academy in the Portland area where every class on the schedule is taught by a black belt with an extensive competition background, an upper-belt IBJJF No Gi World Championship title, and years of experience working with adult and youth students. Our gym is committed to the study and practice of modern, world-class, competition-tested BJJ technique and upholding high standards of excellence and ethics in our martial art and sport. We do not relegate the teaching of youth or beginner adult classes to lower belts, because we love to develop athletes and hobbyists of all ages and abilities. OGA is also home to one of the largest and most competitively dominant women's jiu jitsu teams in the Pacific Northwest. Oregon Grappling Arts is co-owned and co-head instructed by Hannah Sharp, an IBJJF adult brown belt No Gi World Champion, adult black belt American National Champion, adult black belt No Gi World silver medalist, ADCC N. American West Coast Trials bronze medalist, Midwest Finishers 135-lb. pro tournament champion, and Sub Spectrum 135-lb. pro tournament champion. Her experience also includes training youth and adult students for competitions and building jiu jitsu programs from the ground up. During her time as an instructor in Portland, Hannah created and is currently the head instructor of one of the strongest women’s jiu jitsu teams in the Pacific Northwest. She takes pride in furthering women’s jiu jitsu in Portland and is dedicated to building and maintaining a strong women’s presence at OGA. Hannah also loves helping kids and teens start their jiu jitsu journey. As a head youth instructor, she was able to grow a program for 5-7 year olds from just a handful of kids to over forty students. Hannah has been complimented for her ability to provide structured and safe youth classes while simultaneously ensuring that everyone is developing solid jiu jitsu skills and having fun. All other classes are taught by co-owner and co-head instructor Eddie Jamrog. An IBJJF master 1 brown belt No Gi World Champion and master 1 black belt No Gi world silver medalist.
