Tony Smith joined First Command Financial Services as a Financial Advisor in June 1999, following three years working as an industrial engineer. Prior to that, he served for four years in the United States Army. There, he served in the Army's Ordinance Corps, and completed a 1993 combat tour in Somalia. He attained the rank of Captain. A graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Industrial Engineering, Tony holds Series 6, 63, 65 and 26 securities licenses plus state life and health insurance licenses. He is a Certified Financial Planner & Trade certificant, and a member of the Financial Planning Association and GAMA International. Tony advocates time-tested financial principles, including disciplined, long-term saving and investing, careful debt management, and a thoughtful insurance strategy to manage financial risk. Through a values-centered approach to financial planning and a client-first philosophy, Tony is committed to helping his clients plan confidently for the future and to accompanying them on their financial journey. Born and raised in Carlisle, Tony understands the community and is well suited to serve the financial needs of families in central Pennsylvania. Tony is a member of the Carlisle Chamber of Commerce and the Carlisle Evangelical Free Church. He enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his wife and three children.
