General Description

Pheasant Run Farm Bed and Breakfast has four beautiful overnight guest rooms and an event venue in a completely restored and lovingly repurposed stone bank barn. The lower level of the bed and breakfast is a banquet space that can accommodate up to 100 guests. Weddings and receptions, showers and other private parties are hosted in The Pheasant Room which opens to a large brick patio and butterfly garden. The Overnight Rooms are located on the upper floors. Henry and Anna's Room, named for the original owners, is the largest room. The suite has a king-size 4 poster bed, gas fireplace with a seating area, a private balcony overlooking the garden, a large accessible bathroom with a jetted tub and it's on the first floor. Catherine's Room is named for the previous owner, she and her husband Jason lived on the farm for 50 years. Catherine's Room offers a queen size canopy bed, fireplace, a large bathroom with double sinks and a farmhouse view. Olivia's Room is named for the Abel's eldest granddaughter. Olivia's Room has 2 twin beds, a large bathroom, and a garden view. Violet's Room is named for the Abel's youngest granddaughter. Violet's Room has a queen-sized canopy bed and a bathroom with a pedestal sink. The interior of the bed and breakfast is finished as a home but with some of the original barn structure apparent. Custom wall hand paintings, heirloom antiques, oriental rugs with special attention to comfort and style are what make Pheasant Run Farm Bed and Breakfast a Lancaster County treasure. Breakfast is included with your overnight stay. Breakfast is served in the dining room on patterned sets of dishware collected by the Abels. Built in 1809, the barn was part of a working farm. In 1986 Bob and Vivian Abel purchased the property and began restoring the 1842 stone farmhouse and had just about completed it by 1998. In 2000 the barn was in need of a new roof and Vivian's dream of a bed and breakfast began to become reality. Before the bed and breakfast was completed a neighbor was married in the garden and had the reception in the banquet space. This was the first of many weddings at Pheasant Run Farm B&B. In 2002 they officially opened, welcoming travelers and hosting weddings and private events. The Pheasant Room is the name of the banquet space. It has exposed stone walls, original posts and beams, built-in copper counters, 2 restrooms and a kitchen. Attached to The Pheasant Room is Jacob's Room. Jacob's Room has a cathedral ceiling, fireplace and hardwood floors. It works well for indoor ceremonies and for dancing at receptions. The Pheasant Room and Jacob's Room are climate controlled and have accessibility. Pheasant Run Farm Bed and Breakfast is a 48 acre property. There is a beautiful waterfall and footbridge at the edge of the woods, a large lawn, numerous gardens, woods and walking paths. 23 acres are grown in corn and there are 2 horses that reside on the property. In 2019 solar panels were installed and the entire bed and breakfast runs on solar power. Pheasant Run Farm Bed and Breakfast is off the beaten path but just ten minutes south of the city of Lancaster in the rolling hills of Lancaster county's countryside.
