Bryton E. Perman, M.D., is a fellowship-trained Internist in Pulmonary Critical Care at Rapid City Hospital. Dr. Perman trained for a Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia. He completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska, where he also spent a year as Chief Resident. Dr. Perman graduated cum laude with a Doctor of Medicine from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies and received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from South Dakota State University in Brookings. Dr. Perman offers advanced bronchoscopic procedures including, Ion robotic bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS), and bronchoscopic lung volume reduction (BLVR). Ion robotic bronchoscopy and EBUS are utilized to aid in the tissue diagnosis of lung nodules, suspected lung cancer, and abnormal lymph nodes within the thoracic cavity. BLVR is a specialized procedure with the Spiration Valve System at Monument Health aimed at improving dyspnea and respiratory mechanics for select patients with severe, symptomatic COPD and emphysema.
