General Description

Modern Rocks Gallery features fine art rock photography from some of the greatest rock photographers. The photography is curated by gallery owner, former Modern English guitarist and now Austin resident, Steven Walker, whose philosophy is to recognize the art of rock photography. The walls of the gallery feature everything from rare intimate recording studio shots, live performances and award winning portraits of some of rock’s greatest legends, all printed in limited small runs and presented in a fine art format, signed and hand numbered by the photographer. Modern Rocks Gallery features a number of its own exclusive collections, including a world exclusive, outtakes from the famous Nirvana “Nevermind” album cover photo shoot by Austin photographer, Kirk Weddle. The gallery recently launched The Scott Newton Archive, an exclusive collection showcasing images of the 70’s Austin scene through the lens of the long time Austin City Limits TV photographer.
