Ryan S. Kitagawa, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained neurosurgeon caring for adult patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI). He strives to provide top-quality care to all TBI patients and their families during this difficult time. Kitagawa is also an associate professor of neurosurgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. His primary research focuses on traumatic brain injury. He frequently lectures at national and international meetings. Kitagawa completed medical school in 2006 and his neurosurgery residency in 2012 at Baylor College of Medicine. He completed fellowship training in neurotrauma and critical care at the University of Miami School of Medicine in 2013.
