General Description

I love seeing patients in my focus area of thrombosis and clotting disorders. I appreciate the opportunity to guide them through their treatment path and educate them about how research informs their care, including my own research.We have made many breakthrough discoveries, including that excessive body weight and oral contraceptives increase the risk for venous thrombosis, as well as multiple causes of racial disparities in stroke affecting Black Americans.I view myself as an educator for my patients. I love to provide information and help guide them in deciding treatment options.My life is about working with people. In academic medicine, the mission and passion drive the success.
