General Description

I am a board-certified critical care surgeon in the University of Florida Division of Acute Care Surgery, where I treat patients who have suffered traumatic injuries. I also treat a wide range of surgical conditions, including biliary tract disease, diverticulitis and hernias. Outside of the operating room, I provide critical care management to surgical patients with critical illnesses, while serving as an assistant professor in the UF Department of Surgery. I was initially drawn to the field of medicine because I had an interest in anatomy and physiology. As my training progressed, I enjoyed the hands-on nature of surgery and how surgery was the ultimate treatment for many disease processes.
